Hi All,

Does DNN have something similar to Wordpress's shortcodes?  Essentially shortcodes are keywords embedded into the page content that generate html items.  For example this a wordpress page content

[gallery id=”402″]
[gallery columns=”5″ orderby=”title DESC, ID ASC”]

would generate a gallery. Is this sort of thing possible within the content of an html module in DNN? Or how could this be done without coding an actual module?

What I am trying to accomplish is the following.  I will be tagging certain pages with a specific tag. And in a different page I am trying to look for all those pages with that tag and list them out and link to them.

Thank you

no, DNN has a different concept where modules are responsible for their Content, the Framework doesn't know about it.

I was able to find similar functionality DNN. I believe they are called tokens. Then I saw that you can use RAZOR to program in a little more advanced functionality.

DNN has tokenReplace, which is used in templates for module views and emails. it is limited, however, to access current context variables (current host name, website properties, tab properties and modulde propertities/settings)
