Hi there,

I am trying to get going with DotNetNuke. Starter Kit should suit me fine. Alas after doing the following the templates do not show up in VS 2005:

- Downloaded starter kit 4.3.2 RC
- Renamed .zip to .vsi.
- Executed .vsi file
- Responded Yes to certificate question
- Finished installation
- Started VS 2005
- New website: no DNN templates.
- New project: no DNN templates.

I tried this on my office and my private PC with the same effect. Hence this post.

I extracted the .zip files that were copied to the Templates dir. This made no difference.

The full path of the project template is:

..\My documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic

I guess VS is not looking in the right folder for templates or something.

Any advice is welcome.

Kind regards,

Ries

PS:

My VS 2005 is :

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Version 8.0.50727.42  (RTM.050727-4200)
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 2.0.50727

Installed Edition: Professional

Microsoft Visual Basic 2005
Microsoft Visual C# 2005
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Aplications
Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have now also tried DotNetNuke_4.0.3_StarterKit.vsi with the same result.

Furthermore I tried the 'Club Website Starterkit' from Microsoft's collection of starterkits. This puts it's zipfiles in exactly the same folder and this template DOES show up under 'My Templates' when I start a new website.

Could I be missing any prerequisites? Is there any way to trace what VS does when loading templates?

Argh,

Me and my C# fixation....

Switching to VB in the New Site window helps

Ruizz.. good catch ;).. we are all a bit skewed towards vb.net here, so catching this one was equally difficult for us ;)

I have similar problems. I have searched for a doc file about the DotNetNuke_4.3.1_StarterKit, but didn't found any.

ruizzie wrote above about renamning .zip to .vsi, and then execute the .vsi file. Can anyone explain this to me?

Tomas
