Hi,

I am trying to use the dnn:UrlControl (~/controls/UrlControl.ascx) in a custom module. The Url is required, so I set Required="true". But when I leave it empty at runtime (i.e. when I am not entering a web address or selecting a page or document), the page posts back and saves a NULL value in the database. And there are different "sub-forms" which have to be validated on other actions.

What has to be done? How (and when) does the validation event fire? How can I assign a ValidationGroup? How can I customize the error message?

Or can I use a RequiredFieldValdator? Which is the ControlToValidate?

Happy DNNing!
Michael
