Do you get a message? Does the site crash? Does it take you some unexpected place? Is it browser specific?

You said you cannot access the Event Viewer, but can you look directly in the database? Does it write into the tables?

No message, no crash, doesn't take me nowhere and it's not browser specific.

Once I switched from ControlBar to RibbonBar, I was able to check events, but I checked SQL tables too before and it was writing.

I also found this site about setting runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests true in web config, that helped too.

Then I disabled Minify JS/CSS and Composite Files in host settings and now I can edit content and access admin/host menu/settings so I might be all set, but I'll do some more testing before a pop the champagne.. :)
