I am getting SEARCH GENERATION ERRORS showing in the event log whenever I re-index or attempt to search the site.  I am not sure that the system is using the SQL 2012 Full Text capability or not (or how exactly to enable this if it even needs enabling).

We have YAF installed on this site and selecting use SQL FullText causes it to not return anything.

Also...the DNN Search is not indexing my forum content....

Anybody?

Thanks

Roy

Which DNN/Forum versions you are using?

Roy,

you have to enable Full Text capabilities on your SQL server to make that YAF-feature work, afaik. If you have not activated this, run SQL Server setup and chosse the "Add Features to an existing installation" option, then activate full text on the appropriate step.

DNN Search does not use full text, but uses Lucene search - therefore the full text stuff ist only available in YAF Search. If you get errors while reindexing the site (not YAF!), this might be a problem with the file permissions of the app pool identity. You could also try to delete the files in your App_Data/Search folder and then start reindexing. Please check if the app pool identity has modify permissions in that folder (and every other folder of your installation as well).

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Thank you for the responses...

This is 7.4.1.  YAF is latest version.

I have confirmed all permissions and noted that everything in the site is working correctly just throwing these errors in the event log on re-index:

:Search Generation Error: CurrentArticle:0 CurrentField:0

The problem creates 2 or 3 entries in the log every time a search is performed or the re-index is triggered.. DNN Search is not working at all and I only have less than a dozen HTML modules on this site.  Not sure if it takes "hours" to rebuild or not but there is very little content to index...
