I have this fixed side nav, and I realize I could edit the ascx files to put this on my pages and manually link to all the pages, but what I really want is to display the existing pages/subpages rather than manually coded, with this side navigation (so that way, if I hide some user roles from being able to see certain nav items, they are no longer able to see them.

1. Are there certain DNN tokens I can define to populate my list items and sub-items with the desired links to all existing pages that are visible to the logged in user roles?

2. Can I make this into a module?
2a. Do I have to create a fixed, similarly sized content pane to place this nav module

3. What is the recommended solution?

Hi J N,

The standard way of displaying the menu on you Dnn site is to use the DDR Menu on your skin.

The DDR Menu is template driven that uses XSLT, tokens or razor so you can basically template the menu the way you want it to look.

Here's some information on the menu system:

If you were to use the DDR menu all your problem's would be solved!

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Geoff.
