I've been using the Repository since April and have found it to be very reliable.  We recently updated our website to DNN 4.3.2 and seem to have most things working.  The Repository was upgraged to 3.1.10 and now requires an entry in the "Your Name" box.  However, nothing can be entered and without the entry the upload cannot be done.  Same is true for editing an already entered/uploaded document.  At this point, the Repository is essentially useless when it comes to adding to the repository or editing the paramaters that were set when the document was previously uploaded.

We would appreciate any help.

Mike

There are a few other threads that discuss this (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/54/threadid/46859/scope/posts/Default.aspx)but, as far as has been posted, the problem was only affecting the Host account. Are you getting it on other accounts as well? If yes, are they accounts that are setup with Host permissions? Something else I just thought of but can't remember if it applies but are you running Active Directory authentication on your site (I can't remember if the Firstname/Lastname fields are populated when an AD user logs in)?

The "Your Name" has always been required and hasn't been editable (since becoming a DNN project I believe) but there was never a problem until the latest releases of DNN.

Thanks for your help!  About 2 minutes after I posted my request, I discovered the answer by, of all things, reading the documentation.  I noticed in the documentation that my name should appear in the 'Your Name' field if you are logged into the website.  I knew I was logged in, as a super user, so my name should have appeared.  My name appeared in lieu of 'Register' so I assumed (always dangerous) that the website 'knew' who I was.  So I checked my user profile and realized that after the upgrade to 4.3.2 I had never entered my name there.  I assumed that since I could log in, the system knew who I was but once I put my name in the user profile the problem with the repository went away.

There is one other issue with the repository that I don't see logged, as of yesterday, as a bug.  The Repository settings will not keep the image setting you make at the bottom of the settings section.  I know this for a fact since I was testing the themes and EVERY time I went into the settings I had to set the image.

Again, thanks for your help!

Mike

The image not sticking is a new one. I'll try to verify it over the next couple of days. My wife is getting out of the hospital tomorrow hopefully so I'll have more time in the evenings to devote to bug testing in the Repository. If I haven't replied by next Monday give this post a bump to remind me.

FYI, it seems to have fixed itself.  I know I wasn't dreaming since I had another developer in my office and I pointed out the problem to him.  He remembers the conversation and seeing that the image would 'not stick'.   At this point I cannot recreate it.

I just downloaded the upgrade to 4.3.3 and plan to apply it tomorrow or Friday.  If I have the same trouble, I'll create a post.

Thanks for your help!

Mike
