Hi Sebastian,
Is there a video of your DNN Connect talk: New approach for localization in DNN neXt
http://dnn-connect.org/2015/all-sessi...
I can see that the roadmap for DNN 9 (I believe this will be vNext version)
Support for Multilingual Modules
“True” Multilingual Pages
Central Translation Catalogue
Translation Interface for Modules & Core
Translate “in Situ”
Translation Center
Export/Import for external Translators
Full Integration in Content Workflow
What do you mean by: DNN Core Framework doesn't support multilingual modules
From this video: DotNetNuke Tutorial - How to enable Content Localization in DotNetNuke - Video #292 (from 2012 so it was DNN v.6)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xolcF...
You can see that by doing these settings:
-HostSettings... Allow Content Localization
-Language Management... Enable Localized Content
-Languages.. Add and activate a New Language
an editor will be able to localize at least an HTML module to be localized per page. I understand after enabling
"Allow Content Localization" some SQL changes or deep DNN changes are done.
To me that is some support for multilingual modules like HTML module. Am I right here? Are other modules localizable in this fashion
(by flipping to pages in different languages, additional modules are automatically created per language page).
I don't fully understand your slide:
Support for Multilingual Modules
Using Flags in Module Definition
•Supports multilingual content
•Content can be localized
•Localization enabled by default
-Option, when adding a Module to a Page
•ML Content? (enable Translation UI)
-Adding page Language: Instance/Reference
-Interface for Translation Statistics
-Module Names and Description localized
I think I would need this kind of UI experience (see minute 1'): DNN Multi-Lingual Page Content Module Demo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-eMj...
To finish. To help me build a ML module today in DNN 8 what can I do? Any existing examples, modules?
Thanks a lot.
