Hi,

I have just upgraded to 4.3.2 from 4.3.1 and suddenly I get an "Announcements is currently unavailable" error when not logged in.

Is there a fix to this or should I rather revert to 4.3.1? I am about to do a demo to our IT department with the idea being to try and sell DNN as the solution to our intranet problem. If I am unable to sove this problem then I need to rethink DNN.

Also, the lack of an expiry date option severely limits the functionality of the module. Whilst a global module level history days option may have some merit it impacts the flexibility of the module negatively.

Thanks

Campbell Fuller

Can you paste the exact error you get here? (logon as host, and go to admin > log viewer to view error logs)

The expiry date was removed because of issues with items being unaccessible after expiry. The next release version is ready to go, so i cannot change anything there, some kind of expiry control will be put back on the roadmap though

cheers,

Erik

Erik,

I actually meant to do a post about the upgrade to 4.3.2 and I suspect you may well be onto something here.

I did the upgrade as instructed - overwrote all the files with the upgrade files, saved the original Web.Config, renamed Release.Config to Web.config and then updated Web.config with the SQL and machine key settings from the original. The first time I ran the site it automatically went into the Upgrade Page and proceeded with the upgrade afterwhich it said it was successful. However, almost everytime I go onto the site now it comes up with the upgrade page - not always but most times.

So something has obviously not worked with the upgrade - I have no idea what but surely seomthing hasn't quite worked. I suppose, because I'm still experimenting, I could simply scrap the site and install the full 4.3.2 version. But I would prefer to avoid that as I have done quite a bit of work getting it set up and modules installed in preparation for a demo.

Not sure if you have any suggestions as to why it keeps on upgrading but not completing it successfully.

Thanks
