Helllo,

I'm trying to improve some of the system messages that are displayed to the user during the login / password reset / retrieval process.

I am having trouble getting my changes to show up. For example when a user types in the wrong password I want to change the message displayed.

I have edited this via the language editor (loginfailed.text) and it seemed to update for site and host, but on system the old message still showed in the language editor, so I thought this might be why it wasn't showing to the user.

So I have edited all the files that have loginfailed.text via ftp.

Now in the language editor all looks fine. But when I enter an incorrect password I still get the old message.

I have tried a 'restart application' to see if that helped pick it up.

Am I looking in the wrong place ?

Thank you

"System" resources are the ones, that come with DNN (English) and language packs (all other languages) and get overwritten, when DNN or the language pack is updated.
You should use "Site" for the current website only or "Host" for all websites, to enter your modifications.
If your modifications don't show up on the pages, most likely you edited the wrong file. Not all texts for login and registration are in GlobalResources.resx, there are some in DesktopModules/Authentication, others in /admin/security or /DesktopModules/Admin/Users.

Thank you for your reply

Sorry should have explained in more detail:

I have edited the text in

Local Resources>Admin>security>app_localresources>loginfailed.text

which is "Login failed, remember that passwords are case sensitive"

I have definitely changed this for SITE and HOST

I have looked in all the other places you suggest and can't see the same text.

Is there a list of these resources somewhere I can refer to to try and find it ?

Thank you

same key is used in \DesktopModules\Admin\Authentication\App_LocalResources\Login.ascx.resx
and \admin\Security\App_LocalResources\SendPassword.ascx.resx
