I am on Windows 7 so the detail may be different for you.

If you have no Convert to Application that suggests that the dotnetnuke node is already set up as an Application.

If you right click does it have Manage Application and then Advanced?

In Advanced I would expect Application Pool to be set to the one you have chosen (and set permissions for). I'd expect Physical Path to be set to wherever you unzipped the site files to.

Any use?

Best wishes,

I right clicked on Manage Website and then Advanced Setting and do see the AppPool and Physical path to the root folder. So it sounds as if that step is done and not the issue either. What I find really frustrating is I have installed DNN several times over the years and never run into this issue.

What OS are you on?

On W7 I would *NOT* expect you to have Manage Website for the dotnetnuke node. Following the instructions you reference dotnetnuke should be a node BELOW the Default Web Site. I only have Manage Website for the Default Web Site itself, not the nodes below.

OK... I got it. Turns out that under Handler Mapping, only Read permission was being given. Had to go in and check script.

Thanks, Richard... your last comment helped get me to where I could find that. Install ran and I'm good to go.
