We are using Social Groups on our site for some interesting functionality.

Some site users can create new groups, which is working fine. Anyone can join these groups.

I would like to be able to set up some groups as paid subscription groups, so users have to pay a nominal amount (e.g. $20/year) to join the group.

We currently use a 3rd party extension for other site subscription stuff via PayPal, but not fixed on using it for this.

Is there any way within the current DNN platform to achieve this?

I am comfortable with .Net development, and could create my own solution, but would prefer to future-proof my site by keeping it as upgradeable as possible.

There is few commercial module that can do that as well : I am using Revindex to do that. Smith Consulting and DNN Smart also have one. These modules support many other payment methods beside just paypal like Ventrian and give better experience to for user to buy and manage subscriptions.
