Hi,

I'd appreciate any help with this.

This is an older website that I need to bring back up (but I won't make it web accessible) so that I can recover important content from it.

I can't visit the website using http://localhost (I have full RDP access). I just get a 404 message. This is how I had originally installed DNN and created the site before I made it Live, so I believe that it was configured to work correctly like this. I have double checked IIS bindings and they are correct for this site. T

A bot has registered thousands of users, which I cleared up using SQL scripts. There were also 500,000 folders created in User folders under each portal, i.e. ..\Portal\0\Users, which I have managed to clear up too.

I am thinking that the hack may have caused this issue.

Any ideas on how I could bring this site up ?

Thank you.

Peculiarly, removing the localhost binding and creating it again fixed the problem. Very strange.

sometimes a restart (triggered by configuration changes) might get the site back to live ;)
