In the NB Store Forum (NB Store is a free web shop DNN module) they say about DNN (and I quote):

----------

..It's pretty easy to move pages into the admin menu and create admin pages when using the page manager and also through the page settings.

I do occasionally also find that a portal will have its pages jumbled about for no apparent reason. This first happened back with DNN 5 for me and still happens on 7. I don't worry about it and I haven't reported it...

----------

Thread: https://nbstore.codeplex.com/discussi...

Is this functionality even build in DNN? I never have seen it! What's the point? Why would it be useful? If you have the DNNmenu HTML element where pages can be injected by the CMS (DNNmenu = Main Website Menu)? One can have if one would ADMIN's only pages in DNNmenu, right?

Anyways if it was really possible why did no one said that in my former DNN forum posts? If it was even possible by Page Manager or Page Settings than this functionality was unstable in my last DNN / NB Store installation! I added pages the normal way, just as the day before, but than they still came in DNNmenu.

Only when I tightened security and started from scrap again, with fresh copies DNN and NB Store, the "Pages in ADMIN MENU" phenomenon was gone.

Anyways if it was really possible, and build in standard DNN, why did no one said that in my former DNN forum posts? sorry, I don't understand your question. DNN treats Admin menu mostly like any other menu, there is just an extra security check to grant access to members of administrators role only.

Getting custom pages in ADMIN MENU can be done with "Parent Page" setting of page manager, peculiar is that I did not touch this setting, should be default <none specified> for web site main menu, that's what I wanted, yet still the pages came in ADMIN MENU, checked setting, was on <none specified>, pages still came in ADMIN MENU.

However if I recall correctly I renamed the "HOME" page name, or I wanted and tried to, before trying to add pages to main menu, but there where some kind of problems with that (renaming HOME page), in principle, Sebastian told me later on, one can change this pseudo "hard coded" HOME page name. Maybe this (the problems of renaming HOME) messed up the system?

Problem was, and what I could not understand, that when I keep "Parent Page" setting of the DNN Page Manager on default <none specified> pages still came in ADMIN MENU, Robax of the DNN "NB_Store" module forum said that can occasionally happen, so I got to take his word for it, find it it still weird though, then there must be an asynchronous bug in DNN. I rebuild DNN problem was over, so I thought some one had changed by FTP some DNN core files that process the MENU making in my (former) DNN installation, because a day before it did not happen with this, the "same", installation and Page Manager settings.
