Hello Sir/Mam,

I have created WCF service, which is outside of my DNN Web Site. This Service works for create a new user in DNN and it have some parameters which is mandatory for create a new user in DNN.when i run this service it gives me null reference error. When i checked this i found FirstName and LastName is null here i tried with hard coded firstname, lastname as well but the same issue i found.

Is it possible to execute DNN method like create user etc using DNN dll outside DNN application (Separate application)? If yes please help me how to configure that.

Thank You.

Regards,

Sourabh S. Malani

Everything is possible but...

I would suggest you adopt the DNN Services Framework and WebAPI rather than WCF. By working with the templates and tutorials available you should learn more easily about how to work with the DNN Entities within your API and have the added benefits of being able to secure your service by Module or Role. I imagine there is a case scenario where an external WCF service might be the only viable solution but unless you are sure that is the best option I might reconsider my approach. If you work with the WebAPI within your DNN instance you could expose the DNN Entities via inheritance and make life much easier.
