The forum page kept freezing while replying yesterday.

I found the problem to be in the vw_Modules view in the database. There is a cast of a substring in this code that can get fired for unknown reasons when it shouldn't. This is causing the iconfile path to be substringed down to /Sigma/Use and then an attempt is made to cast it to integer.

My workaround is to take away the cast of the substring and instead cast the fileid to nchar. I filed issue 8503 yesterday, added an alter view to 8.00.01.02 data provider and issued a pull request. Maybe it will be in 8.0.1.

the issue has been introduced in DNN 8, originally the line called dbo.FilePath() function to resolve the icon file path.
There is an issue in Jira, i.e. this should be fixed in one of the next DNN versions.

I had another go with version 8.0.3 (fresh install, new database) but I get an error:
http://localhost/DNN803/Default.aspx?tabid=59&error=Conversion+failed+when+converting+the+nvarchar+value+%27%2fSigma%2fUse%27+to+data+type+int.&content=0

This is becoming frustrating considering its a fresh install!
