Hi Team,

Could you help me knowing the different ways by which we can apply custom background image to a DNN site at page level.

You can set the "background" in the Page Settings, or you can customize the background by applying the image in the SKIN/THEME's CSS file.

Most Skins will already do this, overriding the "page setting" and typically hiding the background image from the page.

Are you using a custom skin?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the instant reply.

I am actually working on a custom module where in the user can do the following things

1. Select the portal from the list of portals in the current domain which gives a result of the pages available on the selected portal. Later the user can select an image from the images available for a particular page. that is we can select different images as background for different pages in the same portal.

2. user can add images from the local systems and later select the images as background.

Currently we are applying the images though the skin object that is customizing a skin.

I need to know is there any other way apart from changing the skin to apply multiple skins to a page/portal in DNN. We donot want to customise the skin. We are trying and finding ways to change the images other than customising skin.

Kindly help.CHRIS

If you're just trying to allow for the skin object to change it, then I would recommend that your custom Skin Object set a background image attribute on a CLASS that you have wrapped around the page/content area for the skin. Basically the skin object would inject whatever custom CSS necessary to set the page background, late in the page loading cycle, so that it overrides all other styles that potentially define that background.

Or if you have an overall div, use that instead of the page background.
