I am having the same issue, but slightly different circumstances. I'm just testing and see how to work with DNN V432.
I had the site working, then I moved the site to another box and restored it- again all working as expect. The new box is SQL 2005 (vs SQL 2000) and there was an issue the collation settings between the two systems so I deleted the SQL 2005 database and performed a new install by running /install.aspx?mode=install ... The install ran as expected and created the database tables. No error messages at all during the install. However, when I went to the site I was hit with a 403 error.
I am running as a user that is part of Administrators group on Windwos XP PRO SP2 fully patched. I have verified all the usual issues. Security on the files is set properly. (Install would have failed otherwise).
I have resintalled the site (unzip over the existing files) and still no luck. All setting are the same of the orginal system which does work - only difference is SQL 2005 vs SQL 2000.
Is there a way to determine what specifically why IE is complaining and issuing the 403 error?
I would like to get to the bottom of this instead on deleteing all and installing. (That may not even work ... )
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Paul.
