I am having an issue adding a new security role to an existing page.

The issue is once you login as host and go to the admin page | pages and click on the required page.

Then select permissions

Filter by group and find new security group and add the new role.

Then update the page.

When you look at the list again you can see that the role has not been added.

This issue also occurs when you are on the actual page and attempt to change the page security roles the the "Edit page" function.

Curiously when you look and the SQL table the new security roles are about 1000 number ID's higher than the pervious roles that work i.e. the last working ID is about 62 and the new roles created are listed as 1061. I tried to change the ID's but looks like I am prevented from doing so.

IDs are not relevant.
Did you try going to Page Settings (while staying on the page in question) and modify permission?

Yes I tried from the settings as well. It finds the role ok but after setting the role after a page refresh it disappears.

please download and run http://dnnscript.codeplex.com/release...
You'll need to restart DNN and retry afterwards.
If the issue still exists, do the same with http://dnnscript.codeplex.com/release...

I ran both and I managed to get it to work.

Just for your information the roles that were causing the issue could not be used. I deleted them and readded them after running the scripts then it worked out ok. It looks like if the created roles are corrupted then they are corrupted permanently.

Also would be handy to have an example of the databaseOwner and objectQualifier if using a default setting. I guessed "dbo.[Roles]" and it worked ok.

Thanks for your help.
