I set up our dnn site per an example tutorial, in IIS like this:

sites >
       default web site>
             dotnetnuke***this is our site.

Right now our URL says /dotnetnuke/

How can I change this so the URL says /mynewsitename/ ??

Can someone either tell me how to change this at the IIS level or how to at least change it in the URL?

It's fine as a subdirectory, I just want the name changed from dotnetnuke to our new title.

you should install DNN besides the default website (in iis websites).
In IIS, create a new website pointing to this folder (App Pool with ASP.NET 4 integrated mode) and bind your domain name to it.
