I have built modules that just pass a local parameter (userid) to a stored procedure then spit back the preformatted code to output to a page.  No problem.

Now, I want to be able to post back to the db and store the data where it belongs,e g., updating a telephone number, following the DNN business rules.  Are there business objects available for DNN?  Maybe they go by another name?  I am trying to keep the user from having to go digging through the profile area - or not doing it at all because of the hassle.

And is there a book that covers this area well?  Too many outdated, "overview" videos out there.

Thanks!

It is a bit hard to understand what you want to accomplish here. Building a Business Layer in DNN, or rahter that is used by a web site using DNN, isn't really any different from building one in ordinary .NET

Thanks.

By business objects, I mean a means by which data are submitted, which makes sure that everything gets handled in the database according to its business rules to protect the integrity of the data, e.g., submit a last name and update both the Users.Lastname and the last name value in UserProfiles.

We use these in the system I use at work where the data is a lot more complicated to keep us from forgetting stuff we didn't even know or not knowing the nuances of changes after an upgrade.
