Good day,

I have been searching the web (and actually these forums) and can't find much on the possibility of installing DNN on Microsoft Hyper-v.  Are there any docs on the process?  Is it recommended or not? Guest OS to choose?

I'd rather keep the server sprawl down and install it on our Windows Server 2012R2 Hypervisor then dedicating another server to the process.  We are a small company of less that 120 users and it will be used as an internal-only intranet, so its not going to get pounded...

Thanks for any details/advice/information that you can provide!

We have a Hyper-V VM setup for QA and Dev.
It's pretty much the same process you'd use to install DNN into an on-premise multi-server setup.
I usually run a single SQL VM, single IIS (File Server) and single client VM's when doing testing.
The only issue you need to be aware of is resource constraint on the individual VM's running on the Hyper-V server.
My SQL and IIS (file server) VM's generally have 4 - 6 Gigs RAM assigned to them. You may need to set them to auto-grow based on demand.

The only change I would make in your case is to have a separate VM as a File Server to spread out the load.

We have been using DNN in a VMware and a Hyper-V environment for years now. As Ken mentions it shouldn't be any different to setting up physical servers on-premise. All the minimum requirements for DNN can be found here - http://www.dnnsoftware.com/platform/s.... Good luck.
