I know you can do something like this:

var tc = new TabController();
TabInfo ti = tc.GetTabByName("Customer Settings", PortalId);

But of course we don't want to get TabIds using some "friendly name" that could change at any instance, but instead want to use something more permanent like a TabKey or similar.

TabInfo ti = tc.GetTabByKey("MyPortal.Customer.Settings", PortalId);

Just in the same way you would use the Key of a Module Control to navigate within the Module with NavigateURL.

So, what is the best way to navigate (redirect) to another page in the same portal? Surely there must be a safer way than betting on the displayed name for a page never being changed in the future?

No one?

Well, the problem is that still requires a TabId and how would you find that without either hardcoding it or using the method I mentioned in the OP?
