My options appear right now to be either

creating desktop and mobile divs and put a copy of the media module with the same reference but different dimensions on the page and use media queries to display one or the other based on screen size, assuming people aren't changing their displays in the middle of a video, that is, if you start on a desktop you stay there, and if you start on a phone you stay there.

or

find a way to change the width and height parameters on the fly based on browser detection information.

Is the latter already possible?  It seems like being able to change these on the fly would be handy across every module.  If not, I will go for the first.

Thanks.

Have you looked at any of the other video modules available to see if they support responsive resizing?  The media module is quite old at this point and I know there are much better modules available that are relatively inexpensive.

@jschlosser I have maintained this module for quite a while now. Would you mind please "dumbing-down" what you're trying to do so I can understand it? Depending on what you're trying to do, it might be a good candidate for adding as an enhancement.

Also, for the record, you can see all pending issues and add your own here:
