Just upgraded to 8.03 from 5.6 and trying to get used the new interface. Because we are a MAC shop, I noticed in the past a few minor glitches doing edits, but now I am beginning to wonder if this has become a bigger problem. Lots of things in the DNN editing options don't work well in Firefox (including downloading the manuals from this site!) So I have switched over to Safari and am still encountering some issues.

1. Sliders seem to be fussy about whether they want to work or not. This seems important because you want the finished website to perform on all browsers, and right now, Firefox and Safari are glitchy. so I see this as a bigger issue for everyone- unless no one else has seen this happen?

2. Editing issues: When opening an editing window for a module, the rich text editor sometimes does not display things properly, sometimes scrolling material up under the editing options window, and it won't scroll down for editing.

3. The MODULES interface for adding a module to a pane on the current page does not work. It keeps defaulting to Administrator Extensions and inserts that. I cannot get it to insert a new HTML TEXT module no matter what I choose, it either just crashes or defaults back to the above.

4. Not all files needed appear in the File Management window. In order to just change the color of the site theme, I had to open the portals file in FTP just to get to skin.css. I know many of you like to work that way, but as a super user, I am much more used to working with the DNN interface. I have contacted the theme developer and while they have helped with some things related to how they coded things in their templates, they are not understanding the editing issues I am having (which makes me think it is DNN not the theme)

So, after all that (and I hope you are still with me) Is this a browser issue? is it a Mac issue? would Chrome give me a more stable editing environment on my MAC? Or do we have to get a PC in the office just for DNN?

Just heard from my theme developer who tried adding an HTML module to one of the default pages that comes with the DNN installation. It didn't work. He's on a PC. So, to me, this means a glitch in 8.03?

there might be an issue with client side code, e.g. added by the skin, applied to the page.
Did you try it on a page using default skin and container?

Yes, that was one of the firs things we tried.

I've looked up a lot of videos, including the one right on this site, but my installation of 8.00.03 is not responding when I try to add a module. It keeps reverting to the ADMIN extensions module, or just not putting any module in at all.

Realizing that the video I saw on this site looked different from what I was seeing on the screen, I went into host settings and changed the ribbonbar to control panel bar, and then, not only did I see the same screen as the video, adding a module worked. So, for anyone else, don't use the ribbonbar for your editing!
