Try this link http://opensource.indyneinc.com/home/DevX/Articles/DynamicLoadUserControlsinDotNetNuke3/tabid/67/Default.aspx.

It shows the technique to load multiple ascx from a single view page.   In the Module Definition, you just need to register on view page to be used as a switchboard.   You instruct the switchboard to load which ascx control

Well you need to be sure what you want...

As I understood the point of this thread was about multiple modules... The "switchboard" approach is something completly different as it is based on one module which just loads appropriate controls at runtime

I am quite sure of what I want. Maybe I haven't made it clear enough.

I want multimple controls (two to be exact) loaded when the module is initialized. I want them to have their own containers and their own separate sets of settings, blog-style.

Ok, I've had a look at the DNN_Blog.dnn (thanks for pointing me in that direction) and it does seem that Blog installs multiple modules. But this means that DNN supports module trees, doesn't it? Thus far I thought each module had to have a separate entry in the module management in host menu, but it seems now that a module can have one entry only and consist of multiple submodules, loaded pretty much like the controls. Am I correct?

If that is what you want... blog-like approach is exactly what you need.

And yes, this would mean that DNN supports module trees... Only disadvantage of this is that you first add modules to the page (all the modules of that definition) and then remove the ones you don't need.

As I said it all depends on the approach.

I agree that it should be best for you to check .dnn file of the blog module (the idea is quite simple, you will see it...)

I had the same requirement and solved it. Here's how:

In DNN module settings, add a seperate definition for each control you want to load and make sure the module type is set to VIEW.

Then, when you load the module onto a page, all the various controls will load as well. Delete the ones you don't need.

You will quickly realize how this works by checking how other multi-control modules are defined in the database.
