Personally I think that is the absolute best way. The files restore should touch the web.config file, which should automatically restart the App Pool.

If you like belts and braces; stop/start IIS after the restore. As you are hosted (Ie it's not your server) I cannot imagine they will allow that.

if possible, restore files and database from same last timestamp prior to the upgrade attempt and start from scratch.

Site restored (Whew!) to its former glory.  I'll try this agin  maybe tomorrow - a little earlier in evening than now 930PM Central time US. First running Sebastian's turbo script.  A lesson learned.  (Actually I think that's the first time I've ever restored to a previous version on an upgrade fail).

Spoke too soon - apparently when clicking on Login- I am missing a login script- so no way to login. ugh - i know theres a way around this- just don't remember... 

How do I re-add login script, when not able to get to edit?
