    Hi everybody !
I am a beginner in Portal fields and need help all of you. Thanks !
I have downloaded Dotnetnuke 4.3.2, there are two part : install and source. I have installed and use it.
    I want to ask :
       1. Why the organization of Dotnetnuke4.3.2 has 2 parts (Maybe this question is silly but i am really beginner in both portal and program.)
       2. I have downloaded annoucement module packet (or another), then what do i do with it to attach (or setup or configure) annoucement module to Dotnetnuke portal.
       3. Which book i should read to understand organization of Dotnetnuke (code, architecture,...) ?

Thanks again !

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand your questions.  In particular, the first question:  what are the two different parts you are referring to?  You must mean the two different downloads packages, one labelled install and the other labelled source.  The Source package contains all of the source code.  If you're not going to be making source code changes, you should probably use the Install package.  Only some people want the source code.  Other people prefer a smaller, more streamlined package without the source code.  That's why those two different packages exist.

There is also a third downloads package there, the documentation one.  I suggest you download it as well, as it is a good starting point and as such answers your question #3.  Also check out the resources here:

In regards to question #2, here are the instructions to add a new module to a site:

    Thanks for your answer.
The reason that make me to ask the first question is: i want understand the organization of dotnetnuke to know what must i do to change my portal by change code, make new module then add it to code of portal...(hơ hơ, đọc lại chả hiêủ viêts gì mâý.)
I had read the guide "upload new module" but i don't find "module definition" any where and i don't find file .xml in the module that i have downloaded (ex: annoucement module)
I find there are many people care about this problem (52 guest read), so i think we should say about this problem more and more. OK ?
   Thanks again !
