Hi

I am moving my sites over to a new server.

Everything has been moved over successfully and the site has been successfully duplicated to the new server however there is now an issue with the smtp to send enquiries.

The smtp settings are exactly the same, however now when i test the smtp settings, i get this message:

There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:

There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent.

This is a big problem as i need to move quite a few sites over but dont want to do it if the smtp is not working.

Any ideas please?

Check the event log to see if there are additional details.

The most common error in setting up SMTP is that the SMTP Server won't relay. But, if this was working before that might not be the problem.

You'll need to verify that the new server is actually able to connect to the SMTP server. If it's external, there may be firewall rules that prevent it.

make sure the firewall is configured granting access to the SMTP server.
