In an effort to familiarize myself with skins and how they work, I installed one called "Freestyle" and changed my sites skin and container to use it and upon updating, it errored with this on my home page

Trying to return the site to the previous default skin results in this page

Anything I click on under Admin or Host menu results in this DNN Error page. I can't get back to site settings to return to the default skin. Help!

Thanks,

Rip

I guess you are using DNN8 and that skin uses a legacy component that was removed in DNN 8.
This will most likely also means it's not a very good example of a modern DNN skin.
Better example: http://www.dnnbootster.com/

Yes, Timo is correct. This skin was built back in 2011 and is dependent on the SolPart menu which has since been removed. I would agree and try using a current skin, even the default skins like Gravity that come with DNN are good for learning. You can back up or duplicate the skin folders and work with those.

If you have access to the web server - I think you can just delete (rename is safer) the skin folder and restart DNN.

IIRC when it starts up and fails to find the configured skin it falls back to some default.

If you have access to the database then you can run a query to update the DB and change the skin. I'd prefer to leave that as the absolute last fallback.
