Hi,

Every five minutes or so, my DNN (7.1.2) installation  is throwing two errors which I will list below (removing the empty fields to save space)

Can you help me to fix and stop this from occurring? Thanks!

please check file system permissions and make sure, access to cache and temp files is not blocked by other processes like Backup and virus scanners.

Thanks for your reply.
I did look at the permissions on the folder D:\Inetpub\SCCInternet\App_Data\Search\ (and the write.lock file itself). Permissions are just the same as all the other folders in the website.

Is that what you mean by cache and temp files?

Using Windows 2008 I. I notice don't see Network Service in the permissions though (which is the Identity of the Application Pool) . Maybe that is the problem?

I have Network Service in the permissions on a test installation (DNN 8.0) . Maybe I need it in my production site (which is DNN 7.1.2) . Is the ID of the App Pool necessary to be set in permissions? Is there a difference in this regard between DNN 7.1.2 and DNN 8.0.3?

Thanks
Tom

you need to grant permission for the Windows account being used by ASP.NET, as configured in Advanced Settings of your IIS Application Pool.
if you selected "Network Service" you'll need to grant permission to it, if it is AppPoolIdentity, you need to grant permission to "AppPool/[AppPoolName]"

Thanks. Should that be for the entire set of files/folders in the DNN installation? And should this be FULL Control permission?

Also Is this the case for all versions of DNN? I'm running 7.1.2 in production, but running 8.0.3 on a test server and looking to upgrade the production site.

Thanks again
