Hello. I'm using an extension for creating news. if I try to insert a picture, it should open up the classic window to handle files, instead I get this error message:

"can't connect to the dialog - you are probabli running a new DNN (v.8+) and didn't activate the old telerik components. Pleas install these in the host.

How to activate this component? Thanks for the attention

Max,

I don't know about such a setting. On the other hand, I don't really know what you are trying to do - therefore two shots in the dark:

1) You should change the Telerik HTML Editor Provider (DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider) to the new CKHtmlEditorProvider under Host :: HTML Editor Manager - or better, install and use the DNN Connect CK Editor Provider: https://github.com/DNN-Connect/CKEdit...

2) If this is a custom module you use you should talk to the manufacturer to make this module compatible with DNN 8. There has been a change in the namespace for the Telerik controls (new name: DotNetNuke.Web.Deprecated) that should be referenced. This is a first step to make the module work on DNN 8, but as the name of the namespace suggests, this could be removed sooner or later. So the better solution would be to use the new controls.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Which News module are you using? I would try avoiding modules, which still use Telerik controls (DNN already switched to JS and JQueryUI)
