DNN 8 as the Default Web Site root ... and the cert fits that URL. However, we'd like to use the same cert for a service that receives a posting from a payment gateway. We'll receive input at that URL and update database. It's automatic posting stuff that happens when a user makes a payment on the gateway ...  no human is visiting our site. Just data getting posted to it.

So is there a way that DNN can know that here is a URL that aims at a resource that isn't actually part of the portal, and just pass the request on, and not get upset and do a 404 response? Or is there a way to have a page in DNN that could receive this data? No page needs actually to be created or displayed, of course.

This is not the most typical kind of thing yet it must have been encountered before. We are trying to avoid creating a new DNS entry, website, new cert, all that. We could. But would rather not.

Thanks for any assistance!

We are doing the new DNS, new cert approach. Still an interesting question.
