Hi there,

did you ever resolve this problem? I was wondering as I'm experiencing exactly the same symptoms now; I'm currently on DNN 7.4.1 and the upgrade to DNN 7.4.2 succeeds perfectly, however, the site doesn't load afterwards - the browser just spins and spins with no error. I get exactly the same result with DNN 8, so I'd be really interested in how yuo fixed this.

Hi, I have same issue, I use 7.4.1 and trying upgrade to the latest version, with upgrade paths like 7.4.1> 7.4.2 > 8.0.4 > 9.0.0.

But once I upgrade to 7.4.2 (or skip it and goto 8.0.4), browser just spins and after some time it show:

 [HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.]

Any advise ?

dd you unblock downloaded upgrade package (in file properties), prior to unzipping the files contained?

Hello,

in my case this option is not available (maybe due to zip downloaded in another PC) . When I unpack files into temporary folder (on same drive where inetpub located), folder include 3421 files, so I think there is no issue with ZIP unpacking. When I run install.aspx?mode=upgrade command, it seems run normally and no any error reported. But then it behaves as I reported (webbrowser spinning and show timeout error).

a timeout might have multiple reasons, including the database.
Did you check database size and number of records in the top tables?
