I manged to get to the "extensions" page and find available extensions, which has all the necessary items to properly manage a DNN site.   I then individually installed each one as needed, security, site settings, users, pages,  etc...  It appears the upgrade for me did not install the necessary extensions to get going as admin.  I re-looked at the logs and no errors were shown in the logs either.  Anyway -  I figured my issue out..  (get to the extensions and do the installs)

Dwight, can you have a look in the Roles and check if IsSystem is set to 0 for host and admin?

So far, I have upgraded two sites to DNN 9.0.0. One works beautifully. The other appeared to upgrade smoothly, but the persona bar hasn't properly replaced all outdated items.

The working site's "manage" tab includes "Site Assets" and "Global Assets" to reach what used to be the portal file manager and host file manager.

The second site's "manage" options show a "file manager" link instead, which leads to a blank page.

It may be worth noting that the site with the working persona bar was originally created in 7.x, whereas the one with persona bar issues was originally created in 6.x, so it has taken an extra couple of steps in its upgrade path.

Has anyone else run into a similar issue? Suggestions?

The following site roles should have isSystem set to one:

  • Administrators
  • Registered Users
  • Unverified Users

Most likely, for your 2nd site, a DNN 7 upgrade failed, which should have renamed these page, when upgrading FileManager module to DAM.
