I am using DNN Evoq Content Basis 8.05.

I have noticed that on my website if you click a link that opens a file (such as pdf) it opens the file really slow (up to 30 seconds). I usually open the file in a separate blank window, but makes no difference if it is in same window.

Couple other things I noticed is it doesn't do this if I am logged into the site. Only does it if visiting site as visitor. When logged in as admin it opens files immediately.

Also noticed it doesn't do it if opening image files (jpg). Some images I have setup so that if you click them a larger version opens in a separate window. These also open instantly.

Anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

I checked with DNN support and they were not able to come up with solutions. They downloaded the site on their side and it worked fine with no delays opening files.

The files are saved within the DNN portal in a folder structure. Most folders don't have many files. Some as few as 10 files. Some of the files I have been testing are as small as 11 K in size.
Total size of the Portal 0 folder is around 2.7 GB. If I look at the properties on the sub folder that contains the documents it shows around 3000 files. I store images in a separate sub folder in the portal and there are around 2500 image files and they open fine.

The links in the HTML module are coded as href="/portals/0/Documents/.../sample.pdf" target="_blank".

I also use the forms and list module and the document viewer module on some pages and these also open the pdf files very slowly.

The path for images is the same as for pdf documents. I also tried copying the address into the address bar of browser and it has the same long delay opening the file.

The strange thing is if logged in there is no delay, only when browsing as anonymous user.
