Hey there.

I've been using DNN reports module for my form and lists tables, but since the reports module is kinda static, I think I will need some module creation for my needs.

I want to be able to pass a var from a dropdown list or text field into the query.

Something like: Dropdown list with cities, select the city, click search, place the selected city in mycityvar and run the query select * from table where city = mycityvar

What is the best way (and simpler) to achieve this?

Best regards,
João

Joao,

I would use SQL Reporting Services to achieve that goal...

Happy DNNing!

Not possible.
I use a shared web hosting service, so no exe install.

you would need a simple module (e.g. created using Razor host) which contains the filter arguments and passes them using get as QS params when clicking submit to reload the page. in your reports module instance, you may use these QS values as parameters for your query. make sure you provide a proper value (Null or ''), if no param is present.
