Hi All,

Currently I am using DNN v 09,
I have created my own role in my DNN, for example:
- "Role 1"
- "Role 2"

My goal is I want to give different access for each role and for each asset in my website, for example:
Role "Role 1" only have access folder "Root/Images/ImagesForRole1"
Role "Role 2" only have access folder "Root/Images/ImagesForRole1"

and I already goto "Site Assets" setting,
then right click on each related folder and choose "View Folder Properties", ex:
"Root" folder, I give access to "Role 1" & "Role 2" with permission view & browser folder
"Root/Images" folder, I give access to "Role 1" & "Role 2" with permission view & browser folder
"Root/Images/ImagesForRole1", I give access to "Role 1" with all the permission
"Root/Images/ImagesForRole2", I give access to "Role 2" with all the permission

My problem is, when I logon as user with "Role 1" or "Role 2", menu "Assets" doesnt show up in persona bar.
can someone help me to do this ?
is what I want to achieve supported by DNN 09 ?

there are personabar permissions in the database, but AFAIK there is currently no UI for it.
i.e. you would need to grant access for the PB item to your special role by adding a record into the permissions table directly in the database (I haven't tried that yet, sorry)

PS: you should add the permission by calling stored procedure dbo.PersonaBar_SavePersonaBarMenuPermission, after you looked up MenuID, RoleID and PermissionID in the database.

Hi Leupold, thank you for you reply & suggestion.

Currently I am not prefer adding the record to database by myself.
I am thinking, is there a module that I can put on the page, the module is used to upload any file to certain folder in assets.

So, my idea is I will give the permissions to certain role for certain page,
where the page will be included that module for uploading any files to certain folder in assets.

thank you
