I cant get my logged on users to be able to post threads unless they are in the administrator role. What do I need to do to enable every authenticated user to be able to see the "New Thread" Menu?

Well, you have to actually have the users that you want to be able to see that new thread option also set to allow edit in the modules properties, such as checking "Edit Module" for registered users.  This will allow them to be able to make posts, but not edit the module.  I really don't understand how it works, but just know that it does.

No, you don't have to give edit permissions to the module.

  • Go to your forums instance.
  • Click on the Admin link.
  • Click Manage Forums/Groups
  • Expand the list of forums and groups
  • Click on Edit Forum
  • Expand the General Settings section

You will see a matrix of user roles and forum permissions.  Check the boxes to assign permissions for various actions to the groups that you want.
