Hi, I see there is a Module in Extensions called "Authentication - Allows you to manage authentication settings for sites using Windows Authentication".
But when I am on a page and go to Add New Module, the Authentication Module doesn't show. How does this work? Is it just automatically engaged when you start to create Users and Groups?
What I am looking for is how to integrate DNN permissions (Users and Groups) with an existing Windows Active Directory System, for an organization Intranet website I'm developing.
I was thinking I needed to install the module located here: https://github.com/DNNCommunity/DNN.ActiveDirectory
But then I saw this module in Extensions.
Please point me in the right direction to acheive this.

Thanks, I'm still trying to understand what's available.

In version 8.0.4, Admin>Extensions there is a "Default Authentication", described as "The Default UserName/Password Authentication System for DotNetNuke."

There is also under under Host >Extensions, an "Authentication" Module listed (the one I mentioned in my first post) which "Allows you to manage authentication settings for sites using Windows Authentication". This is listed as "in use" .

Which one of these is the one being used by DNN as default? Or are they the same?

I would like to use our company's existing Windows authentication for a new Intranet site I am creating.

I also see in version 9.1 there is a"DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication" module which can be installed.

Can you help me sort out which is the best way to go?

Possible the easiest way is to focus on paid plugin 'AD-Pro Authentication', that has better documentation and support.
