Thanks for your responses. Maybe just installing it as an extension is sufficient, without actually placing the module on a page.

I hope this is the case. Would like to get a conformation on that.

You just need to install the extension. No need to add it to a page.

Is there any way to verify that the security fix is installed correctly and is working?

Is the Security Analyzer updated to check for this as well?

Any know problems after installing the security patch?

I assume that the important thing here is that the files are actually on disc rather than having been installed via the current DNN installation? Reason for asking is that we are using DNN in a big development project where we usually copy the contents of the "Website" catalog to the production environment and then merges the web.config files and our plan is to install the security patch in our development enviroment and then have it included as part of the normal update process. From what I can see, this security update seems to be Telerik related so I would assume it works as long as the right DLLs are there as well as the updates in web.config.

BTW, we are still on DNN 8 (latest DNN8) as there has been some stability issues with DNN9 .
