The host and admin pages became completely empty which renders us unable to manage the site.  These critical updates do need to be done, but it cannot break our site either.  Is there a hotfix or something for this update?

having the same type of issue after upgrade from 8 to 9 when trying to see site settings-->site info or site behavior-->default pages. Getting the following error -- fail to load resource -- in the jquery.js for GetPortalSettings

Nearly the same thing here although not quite that bad (at least the pages aren't completely blank). But dropdowns are not working, page management will not respond to any input, calendar popups not working, etc.... in other words, completely unusable from the admin side. Site is still working from the client side and some third party modules have not been affected (EasyDNNNews, EasyDNNRotator, and maybe some others, just now testing).

I need to get this fixed ASAP as this site gets 80k+ pageviews a month.

Please post here if you come up with a solution and I'll do the same.

Thanks!

Ok I think I know what is going on. Basically DNN has decided to make breaking changes hidden in a Critical Update, by removing older admin and host modules. By looking into our folders I noticed a lot of modules were gone. Then I saw this link: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-....

"Version 9.0 introduced a completely new UI for admin and host functionality. The new UI doesn’t use any of our legacy webforms controls. We did leave many of the old admin and host modules in place to help users with the transition. However, those modules will be removed for new installs and upgrades with 9.1. Again, this change is intended to help with the overall performance of the product and also improve the overall user experience. With 9.1, you will no longer be able to access old functionality by navigating to /Admin or /Host. Those pages and modules within those pages are being removed. Visit the 9.1 Extensions Removal page in the DNN Documentation Center to learn more about these changes."

I have to say this is pretty awful. I lot of modules we depend on are on the removal list here: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/docs/admin...

I don't like these forced updates especially when they break the site and we have spend a lot of time updating. Really makes our team want to move elsewhere. Could you guys put those other modules back in to the update, and allow us to update those if we wish? Spending hours on DNN updates is getting really old.

Ok, so I understand what DNN did, but is there anything I can do to get fix this or prep in previous versions to prevent this. I am going to be upgrading a lot of sites, so I need to come up with a good plan.
