Hi everyone,

I am new to DNN.  In past websites I have done I have used the CSS to determine header & footer placement.  Is this possible with DNN.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Yes, this is possible, although the CSS options depend somewhat on which skin you have selected for your site.  You can edit the stylesheet in the Stylesheet area at the bottom of the Site Settings page in admin.  However, note that each skin will have its own stylesheet as well and it's often useful to study it before making changes.

I have tried that and i don't seem to be getting any results.  I assume you can modify the skin.css in VS and that will work as well.

Make sure you're modifiying the right skin.css.  You can view the source on the page and you'll see the list of .css files just below the meta tags (although in some cases, modules on a page will also load module-specific stylesheets lower down in the source code....but that's irrelevant for what you're focusing on changing).  Take note of the sequence in which they are listed as well.  They generally started with the installation-wide defaults, then the skin defaults, then the portal's specific stylesheet which can be edited in the Site Settings.  The last stylesheet to load takes precedence, and often the same classes will appear more than once in all those stylesheets.  Also, be sure to refresh your browser to force it to reload the stylesheets and reflect any changes.

Ok...I feel like a complete moron.  I have my site up and going.  My header seems to have padding or a border on it somehow.  I don't know what property to change in the CSS to make it fit 100% or remove the border/padding.  Can anyone help

Thanks in advance...
