I have been trying to install DNN in Azure using the DNN Platform prepackaged option. In Azure I create an App Service and a SQL service in a single region, for performance. I tried in the East US and then the West US2 regions.  The creation process works fine but when I go to the site to continue the setup, I get ERROR:Index #:0, Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider.

This is not the first time I have installed different DNN resources in Azure but, it will not install anymore. I have chosen a "Custom" database setup using the SQL Server and Database names, as DB Owner and it just will not connect to the database.

Ex.

Servername: dnnsqlserver

Database Name: DNN-DEV

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Azure has "pre-packaged" catalog items you can choose to install. DNN worked with Microsoft to create a package that automatically creates an Azure Web App and a SQL instance, which is probably their Platform as a Service (PaaS). The script allows you to select names and service sizes while it configures it for you. It's a wonderful thing, except when it doesn't work.

As mentioned, I have created these before and was wondering if Microsoft updates may be conflicting with DNN, not sure. Since the whole install process is automated it's difficult to tell.
