I have a very old DNN 1.0 site that's been working fine. At some point in the recent past, putting the domain name into a browser produces a "dotnetnuke configuration error". URLs that include a tabid work fine.
http://mruthvenart.com produces "dotnetnuke configuration error".
http://mruthvenart.com/DesktopDefault... goes to the home page and all links work.
Any ideas?

First, you probably should check the PortalAlias table in the database to see what actually is there. As the error message says, the DNN application can't find the domain name in the database. You can also do this by checking the portal aliases. In more recent versions of DNN this is part of the Admin, Site Settings page.

(No comment about running DotNetNuke 1.0 other than ... good for you! )

Thanks, Joe. How would I check the PortalAlias table in the database?

you may use any database tool like SQL Server Management Studio or the SQL item in Host menu, where you enter "SELECT * FROM {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}PortalAlias]

Thanks, Sebastian. I Went to Host>SQL, entered - SELECT * FROM {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}PortalAlias] - into the SQL box and clicked Execute. I got this:
