two more things to say concerning the second script:

  1. There are also tables that contain the UserId in fields such as "CreatedByUserId" or "UpdatedByUserId", which might cause crashes of the system when you run this script. You might want to delete these records as well, or change these values to -1 (i.e. anonymous user).
  2. After running the script, you have to restart the app pool as described above.

This is the kind of post that makes people run from DNN.

Starts off with bugs in the forum resulting from multiple posts, ends up in complex SQL to achieve basic functionality, with caveats of "make sure you've got a backup", "it's risky"...and "don't forget to do stuff with IIS application pools".
