I'm looking to give Registered DotNetNuke 4.x portal users a way to select/set RSS Feeds of their own choice.  The idea is... I would display a list of feeds, and from inside the portal, the user would choose from this list (or set a feed address of their own) to build their own myRSS aggregator page (that would be unique to each user).  I'm fairly new to DNN and I haven't yet used the News Module, so I'm unaware: is this custom aggregator functionality possible by some means already built into an existing DNN module, core or commercial?  Any advice would be welcome.

Hello,

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but may help:

Why not something like Smart-Thinker HomePage - so each user gets their own page and then can customize what they see on it (choose the module/feeds etc)?

Thank you, Rodney.  HomePage looks like a nice app, but it requires a little more DNN know-how than this userbase should need to know.  I'd like it to be really easy to manage the RSS aggregator page, and ONLY allow for RSS aggregator customization.

Still, thanks for introducing me to the Smart-Thinker product line.  One follow-up question about Smart-Thinker subscriptions.  When they expire, do the subscription-based modules become unusable - or simply is it that we do not have access to updates unless the subscription is active?

Sorry for the delay - not getting notified of new posts!

No, the modules do not expire - they will always work - it just means that you are not entitled to new versions and new modules.

I'm actually making some big changes on Smart-Thinker at the moment - one of the main new changes is the introduction of Trial Versions on all our modules, starting with the HomePage module. The new version is being released tomorrow for 4.3.3 and has quite few improvements (and the odd bugfix), but mainly you will be able to download the try it on your own site.

As I update the other products I will be releasing trial versions... this will help people make up their mind if it meets their requirements.
