I have various modules that were originally developed for DNN6 which make use of the IActionable interface. The interface appears to be still supported in DNN9, however, the default skins for DNN9 no longer appears to use the ActionButton widget to surface the module actions.

Is there a new way of doing this in DNN9?

Are there any well-known, freely available skins that incorporate a standard set of ActionButtons?

Paul,

if you mean the little icons that appeared on the bottom in some containers: these are part of the container design, they were part of the SolPart menu afair, which was dropped in DNN 8.

For more information see DNN 8 Breaking Changes.

Happy DNNing!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply. In fact, the ActionButton and other Container controls are still supported in DNN9, they're just not implemented in the default Skins. I created a container using the code below, and the module settings menu and command buttons appeared as expected.

Which makes me wonder, if the container controls have been deprecated, how are modules (particularly WebControls ones) supposed to present a command UI now?

Best,
Paul

Now  I'm a bit more familiar with DNN9 themes, I have discovered that the Xcillion Admin layout provides just what I need. Sorted.

Paul,

you're right - but the old ActionButton control is not used anymore, and has been replaced by something else - I guess DDR menu...

Happy you sorted that out and thanks for the info.

Happy DNNing!
Michael
