I am hoping that one of the Core Team Members can address this if it hasn't already been covered at some point...

This may have been covered somewhere or might already exist and I haven't been able to find it yet.  I am looking for a white paper or other tutorial/documentation that points out the optimal SQL Server 2005 settings/configuration and maintenance plan for those using it for DNN.

Right now, everything is running fine for me, but if there areas that I could "fine tune", that would be nice.

This might also fit nicely into the security documentation...  (But then too SQL mgmt is really out of scope for DNN--and there are a lot of good SQL resources already...)  It would be good to hear Core Team recommedations & experiences.

Yes.  That is pretty much what I am looking for.  Basically, everyone has their own way to configure an SQL Server for use in their environment.  Most of the time, the configuration is dictated by the network environment that it sits in.  However, I am in a position now where the configuration can be pretty much anything I want now.

Although it is indeed beyond the scope of DNN itself, I am simply interested in what the Core Team would say the optimal (generally speaking) configuration is that they found to work the best to enhance the performance of DNN itself (assuming that the SQL Server was dedicated to DNN operations).  I am sure that documentation on a step-by-step to install and configure an SQL Server from scratch is WAY beyond the scope of DNN.
