Well I just had two more projects dumped on my desk so this is going to have to wait again... I went ahead and packaged up what I was able to fix yesterday.  See below!

I have updated DNN AD TimeZone Fix and renamed it to DNN AD FIX since it fixes more than just the time zone problem.

DNN AD Fix addresses some of the issues with DotNetNukes Active Directory integration.  Changes that are "fixed" in this release of DNN AD Fix are as follows:

  • When user initially logs into site they will get their time zone set to the time zone of the portal.
  • Whenever users accesses the DNN site their profile will automatically update from values from Active Directory.
  • The users display name is now populated from Active Directory.

The update can be obtained from here:

*Please be aware that this update is not "official" and should be used at your own risk.  I am not responsible for any problems it might cause.

*Update is only available for DNN version 3.3.4.  All source code is included.  Changes are clearly marked if you wish to compile for DNN 4.x.  If you do, send it over and I will host.

Have a great day!

I'd rather not have multiple instances of DNN.  I could not imagine trying to keep 9 different DNNs in sync.  What I was expecting was that I could point the DNN AD module at the AD Global Catalog and it would accept authentication from all the domains in the GC.  It looks like it does that now (as it itemizes all the domains and says "OK"), but they just don't work.
